Genital warts occur as a result of human papilloma virus infection. HPV virus is transmitted through sexual intercourse, but it can also be transmitted through skin-to-skin contact. Therefore, using a condom reduces contagion but does not definitely prevent it.
Genital warts appear mostly on the external genital organs or around the anus in both genders. Although uncommon, genital warts can also be seen inside the vagina and on the cervix. Warts may be small enough to be diagnosed with a microscope, or they may appear large when many warts are placed side by side. Genital warts cause symptoms such as itching or burning.
How Does HPV Virus Cause Warts?
HPV is an extremely contagious type of virus and can be transmitted only by contact with the genital areas, even without full sexual intercourse. There are more than a hundred types of HPV virus, and approximately 40 of these types cause problems in the genital area. HPV types are named with numbers such as 1, 2, 3. Many types of HPV viruses can cause warts in the genital area, but the causative agent in 90 percent of genital warts is HPV 6 and HPV 11 viruses.
Warts do not occur in every woman carrying the HPV virus. The virus can remain in the body and disappear on its own without causing any discomfort. The process from virus contact to the formation of warts is very variable, sometimes it can take weeks, sometimes months, but it usually takes 2-3 months for the lesions to appear after infection.
Some types of HPV virus cause cervical cancer. However, types 6 or 11 do not cause cervical cancer, these are non-oncogenic group HPV types. In other words, wart and cancer-causing HPV viruses are different types. HPV 16,18, 31,33,35,45,52,58 are virus types with high oncogenic properties and high cancer-causing properties. In particular, HPV 16 and 18 are found in almost half of penile cancers in men. Women with warts detected in the genital area should also have their vagina and cervix examined and a smear test performed. Because warts are rarely seen in the vagina and cervix.
The most effective way to prevent it is not to have sex with too many partners. If there is more than one partner, using a condom is the most effective way to prevent warts. However, warts can also be found outside the area covered by the condom, and condoms may be ineffective from time to time. Washing the genital area after sex does not protect against HPV virus.
HPV virus can cause the same wart lesions in the penis area and other parts of men. The fact that a man does not have warts does not mean that he has the HPV virus, the same is true for women. For this reason, a woman can get HPV virus from sexual intercourse with a partner who does not have warts or any other lesions.
Can I Give Birth If There Are Warts During Pregnancy?
Caesarean section is preferred for condylomas that are large enough to block the birth canal, inside the vagina and the vaginal opening, and are large enough to bleed during birth. If there are small and few warts, there is a very rare risk of them being transmitted to the baby and causing a condition called juvenile laryngeal papillomatosis in the baby. This disorder in the baby is very rare after both normal and cesarean births.
The presence of warts during pregnancy is a condition that must be reported to the physician. The type of birth will be decided after the examination. Tissue changes that a pregnant patient thinks are warts may sometimes be not warts but another tissue change, so examination and sometimes biopsy are necessary for a definitive diagnosis.
Does HPV Vaccine Prevent Warts?
Although the HPV vaccine is used to prevent and reduce cervical cancer, it also provides protection against genital warts. The same vaccine provides protection against warts when given to men.
What Affects the Prices of Genital Wart Treatment?
Considering that there are nearly 40 types of HPV virus, treatment is important for an active sexual life to continue. Treatment of genital warts, which can be transmitted even through contact, is essential. We can say that the first answer to the question of what affects the prices in genital wart treatment is the treatment method to be applied.
If treated with HPV vaccine, it is economically significant, but the vaccine may be insufficient in some cases. In this case, the first factor that will determine the treatment price is the method to be applied. We can say hospitals as another element. The quality of service provided by hospitals is one of the most important factors that will determine treatment prices. The service provided by hospitals and their price policies will directly affect the fee you will have to pay. To get a clear answer to the question of what affects the prices of genital wart treatment, you should make a hospital appointment and meet with the doctor.
Prices of Genital Wart Treatment Izmir
You can have genital wart treatment with peace of mind in most hospitals in Izmir. Vaccination studies are carried out in almost every hospital in genital warts.
It is one of the important stages of the process. Genital warts surgery is also an operation that can be easily performed under local anesthesia in the doctor’s private office.
Although there are not enough publications on this subject, vaccinations to prevent cervical cancer and penile cancer are a necessity for those carrying the HPV virus. You should receive these vaccines, which are used in the treatment of both cervical cancer and penile cancer, only in private hospitals or at the doctor’s office. Because public hospitals do not cover these vaccines. It cannot be said that there is any known study regarding this vaccine.
There are many hospitals and doctor’s offices that provide genital wart treatment in the Izmir region, and you can have it treated in almost all private and public hospitals. This disease, which can be transmitted even through contact, is known to cause cancer in some cases if left untreated. You can get detailed information about the treatment process and even start the treatment process immediately by contacting the nearest hospital or the office of the doctor you plan to have the operation on.
Does the State Hospital Cover Genital Wart Treatment?
Genital wart treatment can also be performed in public hospitals if facilities are available. However, the vaccination fee is not covered by the state and is carried out in private centres. Some countries provide this vaccine for women at certain periods. Especially in Australia, even men were included in this vaccination program. It is not yet known whether the SSI institution in our country has any studies on this vaccine.
Genital Wart Treatment Prices in a Private Hospital?
In the treatment of HPV virus, 2 or 3 doses of HPV vaccine will be sufficient to prevent genital warts and prevent cancer, except in cases of necessity. Since the treatment process is not covered by SSI or private health insurance, patients may incur some high amounts. Of course, there are many factors that affect prices here. The most important of these is the price policy of the hospital and the service provided by the hospital should be taken into consideration. It is important that you make an appointment and get information from the hospital to get more detailed information.
